COVID-19 – Patient and Customer Safety is Our Top Priority

At Optimism Eye Wear + Care there is nothing more important than the health of our patients, customers, doctors and staff. We want to provide you an update on measures that our practice is taking to help ensure patient safety in our office. Our staff and doctors always strictly follow CDC guidelines with respect to infection control and prevention for the safety of our patients and guests. However, because of the current environment we have put several extra actions in place to further support best practices in infection control and prevention.

  • We implemented additional cleaning of public areas and surfaces, including doorknobs, cabinet handles, desktops, card readers, sample eyeglass frames, chairs and other commonly touched surfaces.
  • Our store has hand sanitizer stations, tissues, and designated trash receptacles. If these supplies are not available, please notify Optimism staff.
  • If a customer or patient comes to the practice with symptoms of illness (vomiting, fever, chills, lethargy, excessive coughing/congestion, excessive mucous, difficulty breathing) the attending doctor will evaluate them to determine if they need further medical attention or need to be rescheduled.
  • Infection control has always been a priority for our Practice. This includes equipment sterilization as well as disinfection of contact surfaces according to CDC guidelines.
  • All treatment areas are being regularly disinfected after each patient is treated.

You can help reduce the spread of illness by following these helpful tips from the CDC.

  • If you or your child are sick, please stay at home.
  • If you have fever, cough, body aches, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, please contact us and we will work with you to reschedule your appointment for another time when they are feeling better.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Optimism Eye Wear + Care will continue to share additional information as it becomes available. We want you to know how much we appreciate your flexibility and understanding of this evolving situation. Thank you again for trusting us with your Vision care.
